I went to Service Station a week ago - I've lost interest in all of the Prime restaurants at this point. I was not impressed - not with the menu, not with the price, and definitely not with the service. The only Prime restaurant I go to these days is the Prime at the Bentley - and that's only because I love the view!

Schnitzel+ in Teaneck
Schnitzel in pita with fries. Very good. Portion is nice. 10 minutes wait and really just good. And, as some of you know, I'm from Queens so...I know schnitzel.

Arlington Hotel NH
I was there last wee, the first week of opening. The place is beautiful, very modern and elegant. Food is absolutely heaven. We were a bit disappointed that the spa and pool were not ready yet, but otherwise, great place to go. We went to cannon mountains which is about half hour from hotel. and Attitash, loads of fun. overall, great place for vacationing.

Nice to see some first-hand info. Looks gorgeous, and promising. Perhaps not in character for the "neighborhood," but maybe the neighborhood is due for a change. I hope they do well - I think they will. A lot of staid places up there, with old mustiness that can lose it's charm.

Kosher marshmallows at Trader Joe's
The marshmallows tasted fine out of the bags. But I tried to make rice Krispy treats with them and they didn't melt into the molten, ooey, gooey mess that is necessary. They kept their shape when they should have melted. I was disappointed.

Sent my son a custom birthday cake in Israel!
Today is my son's birthday and he is studying in Israel for the year. I had a custom cake sent to him from the Kosher Cakery.

She has an American phone number and ordering was easy. The cake was a football field with his team's logo on it, but she does anything and everything. The report from him this morning is that the cake was yummy and enough for his entire class (the 9 by 13 was bigger than the average American 9 by 13). I am so grateful and excited that this worked out and I want to let everyone know who has relatives in Israel and want to make their day. Cost of delivery was $20 (he's a bit out of Jerusalem). Call her and ask about costs to different places. Made my day.

I found a local source for Prague Powder No 1; I should be able to make a dry cure that's sodium chloride reduced because of the Koshered meat. Testing brisket now for salty factor after 24 hour water soak.

Mexikosher on The Meat Show
The Meat Show just featured Mexikosher on their latest episode. If you're not familiar with the show, the host goes to some of the best meat dishes in the US ranging from his favorite hot dogs to 200 day old dry aged steak. This episode featured Mexikosher and their torta ahogada sandwich.
I'll admit I hadn't been planning to try the sandwich when I first saw it on the menu, but after Nick Solares's review here, I need to have this next time I go to Mexikosher.

Brooklyn or Manhattan? There are some great options in both. In Brooklyn, your best bet is David at I and D on Avenue P and East 4th or Simon at Kings Highway Glatt on East 4th and Kings Highway. In Manhattan you want to head to Park East Grill on Second Avenue between 82nd and 83rd.
