I am planning a trip to Montreal and would like to bring some Israeli spices from Jerusalem to give to friends.
Any suggestions as to what would be interesting and exotic (something you can't find in Montreal -- at least not in kosher form).
I'm thinking of:
hawaijj
za'atar
smoked paprika
nigella seeds
various dried topping mixes for rice
other ideas, please??
(I've checked the customs website, which says that it is permissible to bring dry spices into Canada.)
