My favorite cookbook is called "Just 5" from "Double Nachus and More". Can't find it anywhere probably a one shot charity compilation of recipes. This is a compilation of 500 kosher recipies using 5 or less ingredients.
I should have paid attention when my mother cooked, Hungarian, delicious meals without 18 ingredients per dish. Simple delicious and to the point.
Another gem is the Heimishe Kitchen, the original, not the new one which supposedly combines the best of volume 1&2. In the combining process they dropped the simple classics, I assume to compete with the more sophisticated ones out there.
