I forgot to mention that one of my favorite hostess gifts that I received was a pretty little wooden box filled with a variety of (Israeli) herbal teas. It was given to me by my sister who was visiting from Israel. It was such a thoughtful, practical gift!
Friends of mine, who have visited Israel, have also given their hosta another unique gift; the offer of an afternoon of free babysitting or an offer to take the kids out for an afternoon, either to the park, for pizza or ice cream...the hosts were thrilled and so were the kids!
