I like to bake a special cake/pastry/cookie and bring it to the host's home before Shabbat/chag.
This past Tishrei I baked apple cake,chocolate chip bars, mini-lemon cupcakes with icing, chocolate cake and biscotti.
I presliced the cakes and presented them on really pretty disposable plates, covered in clear cellophane and ribbons.
I found very cute glass jars at Michael's and put the bars and biscotti in the jars with a pretty thank you tag.
Being that as a guest I was relieved of having to cook many holiday meals I was able to focus on giving my hosts fun dessert options.
