I beg to differ. My husband has worked as a mashgiach in the Kosher Jewel (as it is known locally) for many years now and because of this great store, he and many other frum people locally have parnasa with health benefits, vacation time, etc, etc., unlike many "local stores" that utilize the cheapest labor they can find. I also see that Jewel goes out of their way to find the newest Kosher items, most of the time, the first ones to bring it to Chicago plus they run awesome promotions that help families on fixed incomes pay all their other bills. So let's focus on all the good they do, instead of taking the old, stale line of "protecting the little guy" especially when this little guy doesn't invest in their customer!
